I work with the concept of the negative—both in the photographic and sculptural senses, as well as metaphorically. I understand negativity as a form of resistance against the dictate of excess, productivity, and the cruel positivity of the contemporary world—this is a conscious focus on absence, trace, omission, non-presence, as well as what is inconvenient and excluded from official narratives. Just as in the photographic development process the negative becomes the matrix for the image, my practice aims to bring to light those aspects of reality that usually remain outside the frame, embodying emptiness and bearing witness to loss.

The project results from a scholarship from the European Union NextGenerationEU from the National Recovery Plan.

Pracuję z pojęciem negatywu – zarówno w sensie fotograficznym, rzeźbiarskim, jak i metaforycznym. Negatywność rozumiem jako kategorię oporu wobec dyktatu nadmiaru, produktywności i okrutnej pozytywności współczesnego świata – to świadome skierowanie uwagi na brak, ślad, zaniechanie, nieobecność, a także na to, co niewygodne i wyparte z oficjalnych narracji. Tak jak w procesie wywoływania fotografii negatyw staje się matrycą dla obrazu, tak moje działania mają na celu wydobycie na światło dzienne tych aspektów rzeczywistości, które zwykle pozostają poza kadrem, są pustką, świadkiem utraty.

Projekt jest wynikiem stypendium z Unii Europejskiej NextGenerationEU ze środków KPO.
